Notice of Upcoming Change to Standards
In early Spring 2025, we’ll begin transitioning from lithium chloride (LiCl) to potassium acetate (KC2H3O2) for our 0.25 and 0.50 water activity standards. Once our current LiCl inventory is used up, potassium acetate will become our new standard. This change supports sustainability, safety, and quality, with potassium acetate offering a non-toxic, purer, and more consistently sourced alternative. Potassium acetate standards will look and function the same as LiCl at 25°C, adhering to our strict quality practices.
